Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead and oversee all mechanical aspects of our mechanical construction department. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical construction activities.
  • Oversee mechanical subcontractors, engineers, and construction crews.
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues promptly.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in mechanical construction management.
  • Proven track record managing HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems installations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

We’re looking for a HVAC&R Service Technician to join our growing mechanical service team in Cairns, QLD. You’ll work across a wide mix of systems — from commercial refrigeration to air conditioning and electrical controls — while gaining exposure to new technologies and learning alongside experienced technicians.

This role offers competitive pay, depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime and on-call work when required.

  • Current CPR & LVR (or willing to obtain)

  • Hydrocarbon licence preferred (not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of fault-finding in domestic and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems
  • Professional, tidy, punctual, and reliable

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we’re seeking Qualified Electrician’s to join our Cairns and Atherton branches on a permanent basis.

The role available are for construction or electrical service or a combination of both, depending on your experience, interests and comfort. You’ll get variety, hands-on work, and the chance to expand your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Construction Site Set up, Reticulation, Cabling, Fit off & Testing
  • Pre-wire/Fit Off
  • Lighting & Power
  • Mains & Submains Installation/Terminations
  • MSB & DB Installation/Termination
  • Cable Tray Installation
  • Electrical and communications cabling installation
  • Testing and commissioning
  • Assisting our AC & Refrigeration team on both new and existing wiring and controls for both domestic and commercial refrigeration.
  • Lighting and power upgrades, including fault finding, repairs and circuit upgrades
  • Installation of EV chargers
  • Service electrical breakdowns, predominantly commercial and some domestic 
  • Commercial appliances breakdowns and maintenance
  • Facilities maintenance- RCD testing, thermography reporting, test and tag and emergency lighting testing


About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • All relevant, valid electrical licences (we can help with QLD licence transfers)
  • Current CPR & LVR
  • A valid Driver’s Licence
  • Construction White Card
  • Solid understanding of AS3000
  • Experience in commercial and industrial construction projects
